The Meaning of Samphire
Scientific name: SARCOCONIA QUINQUIFLORA
Samphire is an edible herb found in the salt marshes and salt pans of the Australian desert. The edible portion is the stem, a very stringy green bean with a bitter sweet taste, also a high water content.
